HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Portia de Rossi is shooting down reports that she's planning on getting pregnant through in vitro fertilization.
The 36-year-old actress, who married her longtime girlfriend, Ellen DeGeneres, last August, says the ongoing rumors are a pure fabrication.
"There's a story around right now about me that could not be further from the truth," de Rossi, who stars in the upcoming ABC series "Better Off Ted," tells Access Hollywood. "That was just completely made up."
"The baby thing comes around annually," she continued. "I find... once a year, you know, whether I deny it or not... It doesn't make any difference."
The former "Arrested Development" star's marriage to DeGeneres fell victim to California's Proposition 8 in last November's election, a measure that once again banned same-sex marriages in the state. Shortly after the passage became evident, DeGeneres wrote on her talk-show's Web site that she was "saddened beyond belief," but would continue to fight for equal rights.
"I believe one day a 'ban on gay marriage' will sound totally ridiculous," she wrote. "In the meantime, I will continue to speak out for equality for all of us."
