HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Rachael Taylor has signed on to star in the upcoming comedy feature "Splinterheads."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 24-year-old Taylor will play a carnival con artist who dupes and then develops a relationship with a 20-something slacker, portrayed by the previously-cast Thomas Middleditch.
The Australian actress landed her first role in 2004, a small part in "The Mystery of Natalie Wood," a film by legendary director Peter Bogdanovich. She next appeared in "Dynasty: The Making of a Guilty Pleasure," "McLeod's Daughters," "Man-Thing" and "Hercules."
Her breakout role came last year in "Transformers," in which she kept her native accent to emphasize the global scope of the movie.
Taylor most recently starred in the Fox thriller "Shutter."
"Splinterheads," written and directed by Brant Sersen, is scheduled to begin production next month.
