HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — It turns out Simon Cowell isn't headed for the altar after all.
A rep for the media mogul is shooting down reports that Cowell is now engaged to his girlfriend of six months, American Idol makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy.
"I spoke to Simon in London yesterday afternoon, just before he took his flight back to LA," rep Max Clifford tells Us Weekly. "I asked him: 'Look, are you engaged? Is it true?,' and he said, 'No! No. I'm not engaged.' "
The engagement rumors kicked up after Hussainy wore a new diamond ring while the pair dined on Valentine's Day at Mr. Chow's in London.
Cowell, 50, and Hussainy, 36, started dating shortly after the American Idol judge and his longtime girlfriend, Terri Seymour, split last August. Earlier this week, Cowell gushed over his new love during a U.K. television appearance.
"She's the one...She's very special," he said, while also adding, "I think I need to have little Simons around."
