LONDON — The end could be in sight for Madonna's marriage to Guy Ritchie.
The pop star has reportedly held discussions with high-powered British attorney Fiona Shackleton, who recently represented Beatles legend Paul McCartney in his well-publicized divorce battle with Heather Mills.
According to The Times of London, Madonna sought out Shackleton after initial talks with another firm broke off.
A rep for the "4 Minutes" singer responded to the report by telling Access Hollywood, "No comment at this time."
Madonna and Ritchie were married on Dec. 22, 2000 in Scotland. They have two children together, 7-year-old Rocco Ritchie, and 21-month-old David Banda, 21 whom they adopted in Malawi in 2006. Their newest addition's adoption was finalized just last month.
Madonna also has a daughter, Lourdes, 11, from a previous relationship with fitness instructor Carlos Leon.
Madonna, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March, is thought to be worth nearly $600 million. It is believed that she and Richie do not have a prenuptial agreement, The Times says.
The couple has been linked to divorce rumors for years, with Madonna denying the latest round last month in an interview with U.K.'s Elle magazine.
"I had to marry a challenge because otherwise I would just get bored," she said. "Whatever else Guy is, he's never boring ... We're both there to help each other and challenge each other."
