LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Paris Hilton has reportedly reached a plea deal in her drug possession case that will keep her out of jail.
The 29-year-old socialite will plead guilty to misdemeanor drug possession and misdemeanor obstructing an officer, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which obtained a copy of the plea deal. In exchange, Hilton will be sentenced to a year of probation but no jail time. The starlet must also complete a substance abuse program, pay a $2,000 fine and perform 200 hours of community service.
Hilton will enter the plea when she appears in a Las Vegas court on Monday, the newspaper said.
Under the terms of the plea deal, Hilton would have to serve a year behind bars should she get arrested during her probation.
"Defendant shall stay out of trouble. Defendant agrees that an arrest for any charge, excluding minor traffic violations for which a citation is issued, shall result in the immediate termination of her probation and the execution of the suspended sentences," the deal states.
Hilton was arrested on Aug. 27 after 0.8 of a gram of cocaine allegedly fell out of a purse she was carrying. The drugs were discovered after she and her boyfriend, Cy Waits, were pulled over on the Las Vegas Strip.
