HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Keeping with the dramatic fashion of her on-again, off-again relationship with Travis Barker, Shanna Moakler hit her blog to let off some steam after the couple's latest breakup Wednesday.
"I really thought the days of my personal relationship being played in the public eye were over," writes the 34-year-old former beauty queen on her MySpace blog. "Just so there is no confusion or 'source' to attack my character, I am saying my side."
Moaker explains that trouble began to brew soon after Barker survived a deadly plane crash in September and the couple returned to L.A. together.
"I came across numerous romantic emails with MANY other woman, some famous, some I personally knew, all heart breaking," writes Moakler, who adds, "the woman involved you know who you are and should be ashamed of yourself."
"I also came across emails where employees of my ex were writing comments on gossip networks like TMZ and Perez Hilton, attacking me as a woman and a mother," she continues. "I think those were more painful then the infidelities."
Moakler says she felt the need to stand up for herself with so many rumors floating around, including that she had an affair with actor Gerard Butler while Barker was recovering.
"MANY times I have had to bite my tongue and try to be the bigger person," writes the Playboy Playmate. "I have tried to always put the lives and thoughts and feelings of my children first. I am by no means an angel, and I have made many mistakes, but a woman can only turn her cheek so many times. 'No Comment' just wasn't sufficent this time when people continue to lie and distort the truth.
"The sad part is, the truth really isn't that juicy or news worthy, it's sad and I wish it had been left behind closed doors. I am a human being and the bashing has taken it's toll."
Moakler and Barker, 33, previously split in 2006 after two years of marriage — a relationship that was featured on MTV's "Meet the Barkers."
The couple has two children together, 5-year-old son Landon Asher and 3-year-old daughter Alabama Luella.
Moakler also has a 10-year-old daughter, Atiana Cecilia, with her former fiancé, boxer Oscar de la Hoya.
