HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Shayne Lamas is nixing rumors that she cheated on her "Bachelor" beau Matt Grant.
"I did not cheat on Matt," Lamas told People magazine. "I would never, ever cheat on Matt. He was my fiancé."
Rumors that the 22-year-old Lamas' infidelity led to the couple's recent break up arose after she was spotted cozying up to media mogul Justin Weneger in Las Vegas.
"I was in Vegas with friends," she explained. "Matt and I had already broken up."
Lamas and the star of "The Bachelor: London Calling" announced their split last week, following the British hunk's proposal on the ABC reality show in May.
"We tried hard to make it work but we realized that we were both heading in different directions," the couple said in their statement. "We truly care about each other and will remain close friends."
Grant, 27, a global financier from England, chose the 22-year-old budding actress over Chelsea, a pharmaceutical sales representative from Durango, Colo.
Lamas said she received Grant's blessing to keep the engagement ring — a claim her ex denied to People on Wednesday.
"I never said it was cool to just keep it," he told the magazine. "If she said we spoke about it, she just made it up. Sometimes she thinks she can say anything and I'll go along with it."
As for what he'd like to do with the now meaningless piece of jewelry, valued at $65,000, Grant said he'd like to auction it off and donate the funds to charity.
"Let's have something good come out of this," he told People. "Why hold onto it? What's the point?"
