LONDON — Amy Winehouse has been hospitalized, the Grammy-winner's spokesperson confirmed to Reuters.
"Amy Winehouse suffered a reaction to medication at home this evening and was taken to hospital," he said in a statement. "Doctors have advised that she will be kept under observation overnight and is likely to be released tomorrow."
According to published reports, the 24-year-old singer was taken from her London home in a wheelchair.
Last month, Winehouse was rushed to the hospital after fainting inside her home. Her father later told reporters that his daughter was suffering from emphysema and had been warned by doctors that she could die if she continued to smoke.
"The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs it won't just ruin her voice, it will kill her," Mitch Winehouse told the Daily Mail.
Mitch Winehouse also made a plea with everyone in his daughter's social circle to stay away.
"I'm saying to those drug dealers, and they know who they are, if they are supplying crack to Amy, then they've got to take responsibility. I don't want her hanging out with her mates like Pete Doherty either," he said.
