HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — As the star's of the sleeper hit "Slumdog Millionaire," Freida Pinto and Dev Patel have quickly learned what being thrust into the spotlight is all about — dating rumors!
Appearing on the red carpet at Sunday's Academy Awards, the two young stars brushed off all the romance chatter surrounding them in the tabloids.
"We're not dating, no," the 24-year-old Pinto told Access Hollywood's Nancy O'Dell when asked about the romance rumors.
"I thought she was going to say something else," added the 18-year-old Patel. "But of course, we're not."
While their film didn't create any sparks between the two, it did manage to lead the way by winning eight times at Sunday's ceremony. The suddenly famous Patel was like a kid in a candy store taking in the glitz and glamour of the Oscars, telling O'Dell he was hopeful of meeting some of his favorite stars like Jim Carrey and Will Smith.
"I look up to those guys, if one of them walk past me on the red carpet, I'll flip out," he said.
