HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The Other Guys have managed to do something nobody else has down for three weeks – take down Leonardo DiCaprio's Inception.
The Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg buddy-cop comedy had a $35.6 million opening to claim the No. 1 spot at the weekend box office, according to studio estimates released Sunday.
The Christopher Nolan film slipped to second place at a distant $18.6 millon, followed by the dance sequel Step Up 3-D, which debuted at No. 3 with $15.5 million.
Angelina Jolie's Salt ($11.1 million) and Steve Carell's Dinner for Schmucks ($10.5 million) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, to round out the top five films over the weekend.
