HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The Police are planning to make one final swing through North America on the heels of their well-received reunion tour, sources reveal to Billboard.
The band is reportedly gearing up to play approximately 30 dates in North America in May and July, before saying goodbye to touring for good.
The Police, led by singer/bass player Sting, guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland, have already announced plans for 15 concert dates in Europe during the month of June.
The band's final North American tour would begin on May 1 in Ottawa, with Elvis Costello & the Imposters set to open the entire run.
The farewell concert tour will take place mostly at amphitheaters, with almost half of the tour dates planned for markets previously passed over.
A source close to the tour tells Billboard that the run will indeed be the last time the legendary band performs together as the Police.
The highly-successful reunion tour could very well end up as one of the top five highest-grossing tours of all time.
