HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — It's a boy for Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen!
The New England Patriots quarterback announced the birth at his weekly press conference Wednesday morning, calling it "a wonderful experience in my life." Brady told reporters that Bündchen gave birth to their son on Tuesday night. He also said that the couple has yet to decide on a name.
A source close to Bündchen told the Boston Globe that the model's mother and at least a few of her sisters were at her bedside when she delivered the baby.
This is the first child for Bündchen and second for Brady, who has a 2-year-old son, John, with his ex, actress Bridget Moynahan.
The pregnancy, which was kept under tight wraps, first made tabloid headines in June. Last week, Brady revealed during a radio interview that he knew the baby's gender, but his wife preferred not to.
Brady, 32, and Bündchen, 29, were married twice during the spring. They first walked down the aisle in a private ceremony held Feb. 26 at St. Monica Catholic Church in Los Angeles. The couple also exchanged vows in April at the Brazilian beauty's home in Costa Rica.
Brady said he wasn't worried about the newborn baby impacting his performance when the Patriots take on the Carolina Panthers this Sunday.
"As a captain and leader of this team, the last thing they need from me is to not be focused on the job at hand," he said.
