CHICAGO — It appears as if Oprah Winfrey may have gone shopping for some new furniture and has the perfect guest to test out her new threads.
Tom Cruise is returning to "The Oprah Winfrey Show," nearly three years after his infamous couch-jumping antics led to countless jokes at the expense of the 45-year-old actor, the Associated Press reports.
The actor will appear on two separate shows, the first being on May 2 when Winfrey interviews Cruise from his home in Telluride, Colo. He will then make his long-awaited appearance at her Chicago studio on May 5.
The two-part show will be in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Cruise's breakout role in the film "Risky Business."
Friends and colleagues will surprise Cruise with taped messages honoring his career, according to a statement from Harpo Productions.
Cruise made his memorable appearance on Winfrey's show in May 2005, jumping up and down on her sofa as he professed his love for then-girlfriend Katie Holmes, whom he later married in Italy in November 2006.
The couple's daughter, Suri, recently celebrated her second birthday.
