HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — A former contestant on the VH1 series Tool Academy has stepped forward with claims that she had a 31-month affair with Tiger Woods.
Jaimee Grubbs, a 24-year-old Los Angeles cocktail waitress, alleges in the latest issue of Us Weekly that her affair with Woods began in April 2007. She claims that after they first met in Las Vegas, Woods would fly out to see her in San Diego every few months.
According to Grubbs, they had at least 20 sexual encounters, with the first taking place just days before the PGA star's wife, model Elin Nordegren, gave birth to their first child. Grubbs says she has plenty of proof to back up her story in the form of hundreds of text messages and voicemails from the PGA star, including one as recently as last week in which Woods pleaded for Grubbs to change her voicemail greeting.
"Hey, it's Tiger," Woods purportedly says in the voicemail obtained by Us. "I need you to do me a huge favor. Can you please take your name off your phone? My wife went through my phone and may be calling you. So if you can, please take your name off that. Just have it as a number on the voicemail. You got to do this for me. Huge. Quickly. Bye."
Woods has been under the microscope ever since a single-car accident outside his Florida home last Friday. The accident came two days after the National Enquirer published a story alleging that Woods was having an affair with a New York nightclub manager named Rachel Uchitel. Uchitel has since denied the affair claims.
On Tuesday, the Florida Highway Patrol said Woods would only be cited for careless driving after crashing his 2009 Cadillac Escalade into a neighbor's tree around 2:25 a.m. last Friday. He faces a $164 fine and four points against his driver's license, authorities said.
The 33-year-old Woods posted a statement on his Web site Sunday in which he blamed himself for the accident, but said he would not be addressing any of the swirling rumors.
"This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way," he said. "Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible. The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false."
