HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Julianna Margulies, Emily Mortimer and Alan Arkin have signed on for the upcoming indie film "City Island," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The trio of stars will join the previously-cast Andy Garcia in the family comedy. Steven Strait also stars in the film, which will be directed by Raymond De Felitta.
The story revolves around a Bronx prison official named Vince Rizzo (Garcia), who realizes that an inmate (Strait) is his secret love child. His efforts to become his guardian lead to comic complications.
Former "ER" star Margulies will portray Rizzo's wife. Arkin, meanwhile, will play a teacher in his acting class, while Mortimer stars a fellow student he befriends.
The film will also feature Garcia's 24-year-old daughter Dominik Garcia-Lorido, who will play his onscreen daughter.
Shooting on the film began this week on location in the Bronx fishing neighborhood where the story is set.
