HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Tyra Banks is being sued by a Georgia woman who claims her 15-year-old daughter appeared on the star's now defunct talk show when it featured teen sex addicts.
According to the Associated Press, Beverly McClendon filed the $3 million lawsuit on Oct. 8, claiming her privacy was violated when her daughter appeared on The Tyra Show in 2009 without her permission.
McClendon alleges the program contacted the teen after she responded to an online casting call for "sex addicts." After being picked up by a limo at her Georgia home, the girl was flown to New York and put up at a hotel, all without her mother's consent, the lawsuit claims.
The mother later filed a missing person report when she couldn't locate the teen.
The lawsuit also states that McClendon's daughter has never been diagnosed as a sex addict.
McClendon says her daughter suffered damages because the show in question "was undoubtedly watched by sexual deviants, perverts and pedophiles." She is seeking an injunction against any future airings of the controversial episode.
