HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Vanessa Hudgens is coming to the defense of her boyfriend, Zac Efron, who has been accused of not showering.
"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Whoever came up with that is completely idiotic," the 19-year-old star tells Newsweek of the recent tabloid reports. "He showers! He showers! Believe me, he does."
The Disney "High School Musical" stars are currently busy shooting the third installment of the franchise, in which fans will see Hudgens' character, Gabriella Montez, moving closer to college life.
"Part of the movie is shot at Stanford," Hudgens explains. "I get accepted."
When asked if fans should expect to see more of her college years in the future, Hudgens tells Newsweek, "Not for us. We're pretty much done, I think."
Hudgens wouldn't confirm the rumors that she and Efron first started dated while filming the original "High School Musical," but the Salinas, Calif. native did say the couple manages to "do what we want," despite being tabloid favorites.
Hudgens, who has a new CD entitled "Identified," says she's looking forward to catching her breath in the not too distant future.
"I'm going on tour," she says. "After that, I want to relax for a minute, be able to breathe, feel life, buy a house, kind of get situated."
