LOS ANGELES — Jermaine Jackson first choked back tears when he confirmed his brother's death to the world on June 25. Those same emotions were on display again at Tuesday's memorial service for Michael Jackson at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Shortly after actress Brooke Shields told the audience about one of the King of Pop's favorite songs, Jermaine Jackson took the stage and performed that very same track, "Smile."
The fellow Jackson 5 member fought back tears throughout his performance as he paid tribute to his younger sibling, who was more than just a music icon to him.
"Smile" was written by Charlie Chaplin for the 1936 movie "Modern Times."
