McCartney later blamed the National Anthem blunder on some bad nerves.
"Here at the Nascar race! So much fun! Can't believe I forgot the words to the Anthem! I've performed it 100 times. Bad nerves today I guess," he wrote on Twitter.
McCartney will soon be hitting the right notes in the fight against cancer when takes the stage at the second annual Concert for Hope on Oct. 25. The star will be joined by fellow Disney Music Group artists Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato at the event, which benefits lifesaving cancer research and treatment programs at City of Hope, one of the nation's leading cancer centers.
