Will Smith Dead in Car Accident Rumor Buzzes Web

Will SmithHOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Will Smith is the latest celebrity to be subject to dead rumors, with false reports circulating on the Web that the Hollywood star was killed in a car accident.

"Will Smith was driving his Porsche in the Hollywood Hills earlier today when he suddenly lost control and flipped his car," read the bogus story.

The report went on to claim that "paramedics arrived on the scene within minutes but were unable to revive Mr. Smith."

Smith, 41, rose to fame as a rapper under the name The Fresh Prince in the late 1980s. He went on to star in the hit television series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air before starring in such blockbuster films as Independence Day, Men in Black, Ali and The Pursuit of Happyness.
