HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Former NBA star Dennis Rodman was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly striking a woman at a hotel in Century City, the Associated Press reports.
Police officials were responding to a domestic dispute report, when upon their arrival, they discovered a woman who had suffered injuries to her arm, AP says.
The 46-year-old Rodman was booked on charges of felony domestic violence. He later posted a $50,000 bail and was released early Thursday. A court date was set for May 22.
Rodman, known for his fierce defense and rebounding over the course of his storied basketball career, has had his share of troubles over the years. His manager, Darren Prince, told TMZ.com: "Last night Dennis and his girlfriend had too much to drink. When they returned to their hotel they started arguing and a minor altercation broke out where Dennis grabbed her by the arm and left a bruise."
Prince tells the celebrity Web site that his client has been drinking more often the past six weeks due to "a nasty divorce and not seeing his children in over two months."
Prince added that Rodman intends to enter a rehab facility once he returns to his home in Florida.
