HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — has an answer for the tabloids wondering if she's settling down soon with current beau Ryan Reynolds — it just so happens to be Presidential hopeful Barack Obama.
"I am engaged ... to Barack Obama," Johansson, 23, announced to Associated Press reporters as she returned from Kuwait, where she was visiting U.S. troops stationed in the Middle East. "My heart belongs to Barack, and that is who I am currently, finally, engaged to. Yes."
The "Match Point" star was obviously having some fun at the expense of the tabloids, who have started chatter that she is now engaged to the "Van Wilder" actor.
Wedding rumors hit a fever pitch following an article in the the New York Daily News that said the pair would soon be getting hitched, but Johansson's rep shot down the report of the impending nuptials.
"There is no truth at all to the Daily News piece," Johansson's rep told OK! last week.
Johansson and Reynolds started dating last March after 31-year-old Ryan ended his engagement to singer Alanis Morissette a month earlier.
Johansson, meanwhile, has previously been romantically linked to a number of high-profile actors including, Benicio Del Toro and Jared Leto.
She also had a two-year relationship with her "Black Dahlia" co-star Josh Hartnett, before they split at the end of 2006.
Johansson can next be seen opposite Natalie Portman in Justin Chadwick's new film "The Other Boleyn Girl," which is slated for release later this year.
