HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Amber Heard and Jon Tenney have signed on for a remake of the 1987 horror film "The Stepfather."
In the film, Tenney will play a father trying to protect his son, played by Penn Badgley, with Heard starring as Badley's girlfriend. Sela Ward previously signed on to star as Tenney's ex-wife, whose soon-to-be husband (Dylan Walsh) may have murdered his previous family.
The 21-year-old Heard is perhaps best known for her role of Greta Matthews on the short-lived CW series "Hidden Palms." She will soon be appearing in the film "Never Back Down," which opens March 14.
The busy young actress also has two more films slated for release this year. She appears in the horror movie "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane," which hits theaters in late April, and also stars alongside Seth Rogen and James Franco in the comedy "The Pineapple Express," which opens in August.
Tenney, 46, currently stars with Kyra Segwick on TNT's hit series "The Closer." He also recently appeared in the Los Angeles stage production of "Speed the Plow" with Alicia Silverstone and Greg Germann.
