HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The single life is already paying dividends for Miley Cyrus.
The Disney star, who split with underwear model Justin Gaston last weekend, is rejoicing at the opportunity to reconnect with her ex-boyfriend, Nick Jonas.
"He's my best friend, and we still hang out all the time," said Cyrus on Friday's Woody and Jim morning show on 107.5 The River. "We've definitely reconnected. We don't know what's going to happen in the future, but right now we're just kind of kicking it and hanging out as much as we can."
Cyrus, 16, and Jonas, 15, went their separate ways after splitting in late 2007, but recently decided to put the past behind them.
"We both just kind of saw each other and kind of decided this whole thing was kind of stupid," said Cyrus, who is currently in Georgia filming her new movie, "The Last Song." "We were all over the separation."
"I'm really happy to be back in their lives," she added of reconnecting with the sibling trio, The Jonas Brothers. "And our families are super happy that we're hanging out again."
Earlier this week, Jonas joined Cyrus in Georgia, where the pair did a little jetskiing together. The joyride drew a "no comment" from Cyrus when asked about the day by the Nashville hosts, although she did admit to being a "jetski demon."
Cyrus also discussed her latest fashion statement — a nose piercing that has taken many by surprise.
I'll let people think what they will," said Cyrus, who added that the piercing was inspired by Kelly Clarkson. "I hope no one is upset at me for doing it. I think it's lame for it to be such a big deal because ... it's just temporary. You can take it out."
