HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Avril Lavigne is celebrating her first year in the fashion business with a new line.
The 24-year-old singer is extending her Abbey Dawn collection for juniors at Kohl's department stores to include clothing for younger girls.
The new children's line will debut in two weeks, which might give Lavigne some time to figure out a way to slip into her own clothes.
"We have a really cute zebra hoodie with ears," Lavigne says of the new venture, "and I'm like, 'Can I fit into the extra-large? Because I really like these!' "
Lavigne is also busily preparing for the summer launch of Black Star, her new perfume with Proctor & Gamble. The fruity floral fragrance combines the delicate scents of the pink hibiscus flower with addictively delicious black plum and dark chocolate.
"When I created the scent, I knew the fragrance had to have dark chocolate," says Lavigne. "I was thrilled to be able to incorporate such an unexpected element into Black Star."
While she's been busy extending her fashion empire, Lavigne's music fans shouldn't worry. The pop star is working on a new album, which is expected to drop in November.
