NEW YORK — Dennis Hopper was rushed to a New York City hospital Wednesday with stomach pains, the Associated Press reports.
The 73-year-old actor was complaining of pain often associated with the flu, his rep said.
Hopper was wearing an oxygen mask when he was wheeled into the unidentified hospital, sources told Entertainment Tonight.
The veteran star had arrived in town to publicize his new Starz television series "Crash," based on the 2004 Oscar-winning film of the same name. His hospitalization led to several interviews and appearances needing to be canceled, including visits to the "Today Show" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."
During his distinguished career, Hopper has received Oscar nominations for the films "Easy Rider" and "Hoosiers." Other movie credits include "Apocalypse Now" and "Blue Velvet."
