HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Kim Kardashian is stepping into a new reality, having officially been announced as one of the 13 celebrities who will hit the floor on the upcoming season of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars."
Other members of the cast, which was announced Monday on "Good Morning America," include soap star Susan Lucci, singer Toni Braxton and former 'N Sync star Lance Bass.
The cast will also include some new highs and lows, with 82-year-old actress Cloris Leachman becoming the oldest-ever competitor, while 18-year-old "Hanna Montana" actor Cody Linley will be the youngest.
In addition, this year's title will be contested by several athletes with a record of success when it comes to competition — former NFL star lineman Warren Sapp and Olympic athletes Maurice Green and Misty May-Treanor, who recently won a second beach volleyball gold medal at this year's games in Beijing.
Rounding out the lineup for the seventh season are actress/host Brooke Burke, actor Ted McGinley, comedian Jeffrey Ross and chef Rocco DiSpirito.
Kardashian, who stars alongside her family on the E! reality series "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," had to visit a hospital Sunday after cutting her foot on a glass table inside her hotel room.
"I will be able to dance," she said when calling into "GMA." "I went to the hospital. I'll be fine."
The top-rated dance show is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 22.
