NORRISTOWN, Pa. — Jon Gosselin has been ordered to return $180,000 to his soon-to-be ex-wife Kate Gosselin after withdrawing the money from the estranged couple's joint bank account.
A Pennsylvania judge handed down the ruling on Tuesday after Kate accused Jon of taking $230,000 from the account, leaving her unable to pay household bills.
"The remaining sum of $55,000, which Ms. Gosselin used for household bills and expenses relating to the children, will be subject to further determination by the arbitrator at a later date," Kate's lawyer, Mark Momjian said in a statement after the ruling.
"As difficult as this has been for me, I am pleased that the Court has ruled fairly on behalf of myself and my children," added Kate in a statement. "Now that this matter has been ruled on, I look forward to returning to private arbitration, as we have agreed to do, to resolve any remaining issues."
Tuesday's ruling requires Jon to fork over the cash by Oct. 26 or face potential contempt charges. In turn, Kate is required to provide a detailed list of her expenses by the next court date.
The latest feud between the couple began shortly after TLC announced plans to focus solely on Kate and rebrand their series to "Kate Plus 8."
