HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Shane Sparks, a judge on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew, has been arrested for alleged child molestation.
The 35-year-old choreographer was arrested in North Hollywood around 8 a.m. Friday on a felony warrant. He has been charged with nine counts of molestation, including a lewd act upon a child, which is a felony.
The alleged molestation took place in 1994 when Sparks was at least 10 years older than the victim, the criminal complaint said.
Sparks, who also appeared on Fox's So You Think You Can Dance, is currently being held on $590,000 bail.
In a 2007 interview with American Superstar, the Ohio native recalled his early days on the West Coast and working with such stars as Lindsay Lohan.
"Working with Lindsay was incredible, because it was towards the beginning of my rise in the entertainment industry," he said. "After rehearsals, she would invite me to clubs and it was the first time I felt the power within Hollywood."
This isn't the first time a SYTYCD choreographer has been arrested. Earlier this year, Alex Da Silva was charged with rape.
