Colin Firth and Livia Giuggioli Pictures: Colin Firth and Livia Giuggioli arrive on the red carpet at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards held at the Kodak Theatre on March 7, 2010 in Hollywood, California.
"The Hurt Locker" won six times, including Best Picture, to highlight this year's Oscars. The Iraq war drama also earned Best Director honors for Kathryn Bigelow, who became the first woman in Oscar history to win Hollywood's top prize for filmmakers.
"There's no other way to describe it. It's the moment of a lifetime," said Bigelow, whose film upset her ex-husband James Cameron's sci-fi epic "Avatar" in the major categories.
History was also made in the acting categories as all four winners scored the first Academy Awards of their career: Sandra Bullock as Best Actress for "The Blind Side"; Jeff Bridges as Best Actor for "Crazy Heart"; Mo'Nique as Supporting Actress for "Precious"; and Christoph Waltz as Supporting Actor for "Inglourious Basterds."
