HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Paula Abdul's job search may be over.
The former American Idol judge is in the midst of finalizing a deal to help ABC relaunch the classic '80s talent competition Star Search, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The network isn't commenting, but the 47-year-old Abdul would reportedly juggle hosting and judging duties for the reboot, which could debut this summer.
The late Ed McMahon hosted the original Star Search from 1983 until 1995. Among the future stars who appeared on the popular television show were Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.
If successful, this will be the second time Star Search has been resurrected. Arsenio Hall hosted a CBS reboot of the program that was canceled after two seasons in 2004.
Abdul has been linked to several shows since her departure from Idol last August, including Dancing With the Stars and Simon Cowell's upcoming new reality competition, The X Factor.
