HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Teri Hatcher will be spending lots of time on her laptop over at Wisteria Lane.
The Desperate Housewives star is teaming up with Disney to launch a Web site described as a "chick's guide to life," it was announced Monday.
Hatcher, 45, and a small team of experts will contribute to the site — GetHatched.com — which will offer "solutions to the needs and obligations of today's modern woman."
"We're thrilled to be working with Teri to bring her unique twist on life to other women through GetHatched.com," said Emily Smith, vice president of Disney Online Mom and Family Portfolio. "The site will offer a place for women to be entertained, connect with others who face the same daily challenges and become inspired along the way."
"Our goal with this site is to offer women a different take on everyday topics and needs, and we feel that Teri's candid and humorous point of view is a perfect fit," added Paul Yanover, executive vice president and managing director, Disney Online.
The Web site, which will include blogs and a video series, will launch in earnest this May.
Hatcher is a twice-divorced mother of a 12-year-old daughter, Emerson Rose. Her wildly successful portrayal of Susan Mayer on ABC's Desperate Housewives earned her a 2005 Golden Globe Award.
