HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Erykah Badu has Google traffic surging for uncut and unedited versions of her just released "Window Seat" music video.
The 39-year-old singer strips down until she's naked in the video, which was shot around Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas — the site of President John F. Kennedy's 1963 assassination.
On Sunday, Badu took to Twitter to talk about the video, which she says was captured in just one spontaneous take.
"there were children there. i prayed they wouldnt b traumatized," she said.
The R&B star said she was making a statement against "groupthink," which she tweeted was an "unwritten rule" that "i will not express my true opinion if it opposes those i love and fear."
"i was petrified while shooting this video ... but liberation began to set in," said Badu. "i conquered many fears in that few moments."
The video was released on the heels of the Badu's new album, New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh, which drops Tuesday.
