HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Eva Longoria Parker is worried about the impact of Nicollette Sheridan's $20 million lawsuit against Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry.
"It's a big lawsuit, it's a big deal, I love the show so much that I would hate for anything to really tarnish the reputation of the show," Parker said Wednesday on Ryan Seacrest's KISS-FM radio show. "I really would like all of it to go away."
In the suit, Parker's former co-star claims Cherry "forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head" on the ABC show's set in September 2008. Sheridan contends she was later fired after reporting the incident to the network.
Parker said she wasn't on the set that day, but she had heard about some sort of incident taking place.
"She was doing a scene, and ... he was showing her how to do a scene. Honestly, I wish I knew [what happened]," Parker told Seacrest. "During that time too, I didn't work with Nicollette's character."
The suit, which also names ABC, accuses Cherry of creating a hostile work environment on the set towards the cast and crew, but Parker said she's never had a problem.
"He's funny and sweet... and probably could not harm a fly," she said of Cherry.
Parker also praised her former co-star, whose Edie Britt character was killed off the show last year after five seasons.
"Nicollette's a sweet girl, too," she said. "I'm really confused about this whole thing."
Parker also said she would like to connect with Sheridan after having not spoken for some time.
"I haven't talked to her since she left the show," she admitted. "We used to be really friendly when she was here, but she was kind of on vacation for a while, so I haven't seen her around in L.A. I would love to see her to find out if everything is okay."
