HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — It appears we have the makings of a good old-fashioned cat fight between Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood.
Appearing on Nashville's 107.5 FM's Woody and Jim show, Simpson was asked about Underwood's recent comments to Allure magazine, in which she claimed to still be receiving calls from her ex — and Jessica's current beau — Tony Romo.
"Tony and I both laughed at that," Simpson told the show. "We got a chuckle out of it."
The 28-year-old Simpson then joked that she knows it's "not true."
"I looked at his call log," she quipped. "I'm kidding!"
Simpson tried to downplay that there's any bad blood between her and Underwood, saying she wasn't taking a shot at the vegetarian country star when snappers captured her wearing a "Real Girls Eat Meat" T-shirt in June.
"I wore it because I thought it was funny," Simpson explained. "I did not know that she was a vegetarian. It's definitely not a diss on her by any means."
As for whether there's any fear that the "American Idol" winner could steal her man back, Simpson doesn't seem overly concerned.
"If Tony wanted to call her or be with her, he would," she said.
