We're halfway into the third season of The Mindy Project, and one thing is crystal clear: No one has cuter, more stylish loungewear than Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Kaling).

On the Tuesday, Dec. 2 episode, "What About Peter?" Mindy rocks the perfect example of cozy-chic loungewear courtesy of a Trina Turk sweater and Zoe Karssen sweatpants with Adidas by Stella McCartney shoes. "Mindy and Danny were relaxing at home, then hear the noise next door and arrive in the middle of a party," the show's costume designer, Salvador Perez, tells Us Weekly. "We wanted to make sure it didn't look like Mindy was planning on being at a party, so we went with sweatpants and a sweater to make her stand out in the crowd and feel out of place — even though I think it's a great party outfit!"

"I am loving Mindy in blues and greens this season," Perez tells Us — and we couldn't agree more! The complementary tones of the C. Wonder blouse and Charter Club cashmere vest paired with a Tommy Hilfiger skirt are topped off by a custom coat. "I have given up looking for the perfect outerwear for Mindy, because it's not in the stores, so we just make coats and accessorize as needed," Perez says.

"This season Issa has some beautiful knit dresses; the prints and fabrics are beautiful," Perez says of the printed frock paired with a J.Crew belt, M. Haskell earrings, and a L.K. Bennett trench. "This outfit just screamed fall in New York."
How to balance a statement dress like this Issa option? "I kept the Gucci shoes a basic, brown leather, but, of course as this is Mindy, they had gold studs and a little sparkle," Perez tells Us.
