LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Paris Hilton has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors after being arrested on drug charges last month in Las Vegas.
In a plea deal reached with prosecutors, the 29-year-old socialite pleaded guilty to drug possession and obstructing an officer at a court hearing Monday. In exchange, Hilton was sentenced to a year of probation but no jail time. The starlet must also complete a substance abuse program, pay a $2,000 fine and perform 200 hours of community service.
Hilton avoided a felony charge under the terms of the plea deal, but faces a year behind bars should she get arrested during her probation.
The star was arrested on Aug. 27 after 0.8 of a gram of cocaine allegedly fell out of a purse she was carrying. The drugs were discovered after she and her boyfriend, Cy Waits, were pulled over on the Las Vegas Strip.
