HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Lindsay Lohan has been sent back to jail for failing a court-ordered drug test.
At a court hearing Friday morning, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox denied bail for the actress and ordered her held until an Oct. 22 hearing to discuss the drug test. Fox previously warned the starlet that every failed drug test would result in 30 days in jail.
After the brief hearing, Lohan was seen crying as she was handcuffed and driven to the women's jail in Lynwood, Calif.
This will be Lohan's third trip to jail as a result of her 2007 DUI case. She last served 14 days of a 90-day jail sentence in the summer for violating probation.
Lohan confirmed the failed drug last weekend on Twitter, a day after the story first broke.
"Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night," the Mean Girls star said. "I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future. This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I'm prepared to face the consequences."
She added, "I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that i am trying hard, but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else. I am keeping my faith, and I am hopeful....Thank you all!!!
