HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman have split after five years of marriage.
"They were very much in love," a source close to the couple tells Us Weekly. "But over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife."
Aguilera, 29, and Bratman, 33, have reportedly been separated for months. They are currently living apart with no definitive plans to divorce yet.
The twosome married in California's Napa Valley in November 2005. They have a 2-year-old son, Max.
"Christina is doing her best to be a great mom," the insider tells the mag. "She has a lot to juggle, but she's learning how to make it work and balance it all."
The news comes on the heels of Aguilera gushing over her strong marriage in the October issue of Cosmopolitan UK.
"Having Max has brought us closer together," she said. "[Jordan] changed the first nappy while I was in bed recovering from my C-section – and he's been so hands-on ever since. When I see them together it makes my heart sing and melt at the same time."
