Taylor Swift‘s street style is affordable, her “leaving the gym” outfits are flawless and she dresses to impress her BFFs. Today we’re adding one more reason to our “Why We Love Taylor’s Wardrobe” list thanks to her up-to-there mini skirt. It’s the shortest hemline we’ve seen on the singer, and yet she totally pulls it off. Here’s why her styling is spot on.

We already know the star loves to show off her long stems, but by pairing the mini with a fitted three-quarter sleeve shirt, it balances out the amount of legginess that’s happening below. Plus, her oxford Frye heels (the girl loves an old-timey shoe) keep the look from being too sexy and gives off more of a school girl vibe (which matches the fit-and-flare design of the skirt). And of course the signature handbag and matching red lip have the “T-Swift street style” stamp of approval.
Swift recently told Asos magazine that she’s always conscious of having a wardrobe mishap, so it was a bold move for her to wear such a short skirt outside. She’s lucky she avoided a Marilyn skirt-blowing moment.

“For me, it’s important to be comfortable in what I’m wearing. Being comfortable means that no one’s going to be able to pull a fast one and take a picture of me that they’ll deem to be embarrassing,” she said. “I don’t want to wear something so short that I’m scared there will be a wardrobe malfunction, or have a picture of me falling out of of my shorts or skirt.”
