HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Fresh off his team's World Series title earlier this week, San Francisco Giants star Brian Wilson dropped by Thursday night's Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
The closer known for his crazy antics was on good behavior as he discussed his famous beard and how the Giants managed to win their first Series title since moving west in 1958. He also shed light on how he evolved into a reliever during his minor league days.
"I was a starter ... I was 0-3 with a 9.00 ERA," he explained. "I don't know if you're familiar with stats but that's horrible."
For his visit, Wilson brought along the Commissioner's Trophy, which Leno promptly hid behind his desk for no apparent reason. He was also joined by his mysterious friend, aka The Machine.
On Monday, Wilson closed out Game 5 of the World Series as the Giants beat the Texas Rangers for their sixth world championship and first since moving to San Francisco.
Wilson has been getting the Betty White treatment on Facebook, where fans have started a campaign for the quirky closer to host SNL.
