HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Kanye West has taken another shot at Taylor Swift, the country star he famously dissed at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
During his sold-out show at New York City's Bowery Ballroom last night, the rapper ranted about the fallout from him calling former President George W. Bush a "racist" in the aftermatch of Hurricane Katrina. He admitted that he "rode the wave" of the Bush comment, but said Swift was just as guilty of seeking fame after their VMA incident.
"Taylor never came to my defense in any interview," West told the crowd. "And rode the waves and rode it and rode it." That's the way I rode the wave of the Bush comment."
The "All of the Lights" singer actually began his rant by giving thanks.
"As you know, it's been an extremely hard year for me," he said. "But getting back to music, G.O.O.D. Fridays, and the album ... I never thought I'd say this, I wanna thank the magazines for perfect scores across the board. I always felt like I could do anything."
West was on hand to perform his new album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which dropped on Monday. He was joined by many of the album's stars, including including Swizz Beatz, John Legend, Pusha T and Nicki Minaj.
