HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Contrary to reports, Britney Spears has not been physically abused by boyfriend Jason Trawick, her camp said Wednesday.
Both the singer's rep and manager slammed Star magazine and RadarOnline for publishing stories suggesting the agent beat Spears. The allegations were brought on by the pop star's one-time husband, Jason Alexander, who alleges Spears told him about the abuse in a recorded chat.
"Every aspect of the story published by Star magazine is completely and utterly false," her rep told Us Weekly in a statement.
RadarOnline posted an audio clip of the alleged conversation between Alexander and Spears, who purportedly tells her ex that Trawick "beat on me." The "Circus" singer's camp deny the woman's voice is Spears.
"The statements attributed to Jason Alexander are a complete fabrication as Britney has not had any form of communication with Mr. Alexander in years," her rep said. "The audio recording … purporting to be between Britney Spears and Jason Alexander is so obviously fake as to be laughable. Suffice it to say, that Jason Trawick has never laid a hand on Britney."
"This is 100 percent not true," added Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph. "The recording is not Britney."
Spears, who turns 29 on Thursday, has been dating Trawick since last year.
