ANDERSON, Ind. — Teen Mom star Amber Portwood was sent to jail Monday after being arrested on domestic violence charges.
The 20-year-old reality star has been charged with three felonies: two counts of domestic battery and one count of neglect of a dependent. She was also slapped with one misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
Portwood was booked at 4:21 p.m. and her bail was set at $5,000.
The young starlet is accused of attacking former fiancé Gary Shirley in front of their 2-year-old daughter, Leah, on three separate occasions between August 2009 and July 2010.
Authorities launched a criminal investigation after Portwood was seen attacking the 24-year-old Shirley on an episode of the MTV show.
If convicted, Portwood faces up to three years in jail and fines of up to $10,000.
