NEW YORK — La La Vazquez and Carmelo Anthony will star in a new VH1 reality show that will center around their sudden move to New York City, the network announced Wednesday.
The 10-episode series, currently titled La La's Full Court Life, will follow the couple's married life as Anthony begins his career with the New York Knicks. Viewers will also see Vazquez juggle her busy career as she seeks advice from some of her famous friends, including 50 Cent, Kelly Rowland, Trina and Serena Williams, among others.
The series is slated to premiere this August.
"Viewers connect with La La because despite the fairy tale wedding and NBA star husband, she is a real, down to Earth, hardworking woman who stays true to herself," said Jeff Olde, EVP, Original Programming and Production, VH1. "The best thing about the new series is that while pursuing and realizing her dreams, La La gets to take us back to her home in New York, where her story began."
The Knicks made a blockbuster trade Tuesday when they acquired Anthony from the Denver Nuggets in a three-team trade that also involved the Minnesota Timberwolves. The NBA all-star forward makes his Knicks debut Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.
