NEW YORK – Matthew Broderick is returning to Broadway in a musical next spring built around George and Ira Gershwin's songs.
Producers said Thursday that Broderick will star in the new screwball romantic comedy "Nice Work If You Can Get It."
Kathleen Marshall, who just won her third Tony Award for directing "Anything Goes," will choreograph and direct the new show.
Broderick has been on Broadway many times, most notably in "The Producers," "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" and "Brighton Beach Memoirs." It would be his first time back since teaming up with Nathan Lane in "The Producers."
The new musical will have a story by Joe DiPietro, who won Tonys for the book and score of "Memphis."
The rest of the cast and a theater will be announced later. Copyright © 2011 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
