Heather Locklear Departs Arizona Treatment Center

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Heather Locklear has left the Arizona facility where she was being treated for anxiety and depression, People magazine reports.

According to a close friend, the 46-year-old actress is "feeling really great" following her four weeks of treatment, which ended last weekend.

"She told a really funny story and she laughed from her core," a friend of Locklear's tells People of a recent visit with the star. "That's when I knew she was going to be fine. I think that's the best part of all — it's so nice to hear her laugh."

In June, Locklear's rep, Cece Yorke, issued a statement after the former "Melrose Place" star sought help.

"Heather has been dealing with anxiety and depression. She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment," Yorke said in the statement. "This is a confidential medical matter and no further statement will be released."

Earlier this year, a 911 call was released in which emergency personnel rushed to the Locklear's home.

In the tape made public by the Ventura County Fire Department, a man who identifies himself as a doctor tells the dispatcher, "I have a patient and I have a feeling she's suicidal, and I want someone to go there."

The call was the second made by the self-described doctor during a 15-minute time span that same evening in March.

"I called in earlier through 911 to L.A. and was transferred to Ventura County," he said. "I'm not sure if that call went through or not."

He later asks to be called back with reassurance: "I want to know if someone has gone there and that she's OK," he said.

Locklear's rep later downplayed the incident in a statement, saying, "[Heather] is fine. She never requested medical assistance and did not place a 911 call. Nor did anyone from her house call 911 or place a call requesting medical assistance."

Locklear and her boyfriend, Jack Wagner, were at home when paramedics arrived. A spokesman for the Ventura County Sheriff's Department, Ross Bonfiglio, explained to People: "Once on the scene, our deputies took no further action because no one at the residence was in distress or needed medical or mental-health emergency assistance."

A source close to the actress added to People, "She was talking to a friend. She was bummed about something, and the person overreacted. Heather's doing great. [Her 10-year-old daughter] Ava's good, Jack's good, she's working — she seems really happy."
