LOS ANGELES – Ne-Yo is engaged and set to become a father for a second time.
The 'Closer' hitmaker will marry Monyetta Shaw – with whom he has had an on/off relationship for years – who is pregnant with their second child.
Ne-Yo, 31, and boutique owner Monyetta already have ten-month-old daughter Madilyn Grace, and the singer's representative told website US Weekly they are preparing for the latest arrival to be born in October.
After the birth of Madilyn, Ne-Yo – real name Shaffer Chimere Smith - tweeted: "She's healthy and happy. Feels like I'm in luv for the first time (sic).
"Welcoming that lil' girl to the world last night defined for me what 'willing to kill and die for' truly means. My world, my life, all hers (sic)."
The 'So Sick' star has previously said he would only ever consider marrying someone who is independent.
He said: "I don't want someone who's with me because she needs help paying the rent. My mom worked six jobs to make sure we never needed anything so that's the kind of woman I'll marry.
