HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Kate Hudson is walking on new ground being "totally single" as an actress for the first time.
"I was never single in the industry — when the movies came out and I started getting more jobs, I was always married," the 29-year-old star reveals in the January issue of the U.K.'s Harper's Bazaar, according to Access Hollywood.
Hudson, who was previously married to Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson, says being in unchartered waters has meant quite a few changes.
"The whole thing is very new to me, and it hits you very fast because the publications jump on you," explains the "Almost Famous" star. You're dating everybody you walk around with — you can't have any male friends. It's weird."
In addition to keeping a safe distance from her male pals, Hudson tells the magazine that she's also hoping to avoid those ongoing pregnancy rumors in the tabloids.
"They've said maybe four times recently that I'm pregnant. Because I'm leaning over in the picture! Hudson explains. "You think about it, and you're like, 'What are you doing?'
"It's all bulls**t," she adds. "Excuse my language, but it is. Women's bodies change — they change all the time."
Hudson, who will soon star in the big screen comedy "Bride Wars," says being on the run all the time helps keep her mind off all the tabloid rumors.
"Sports are big in my life," she says. "I swim, run, bike and dance, play volleyball and soccer, and I want to start training for a triathlon. I'm one of those people who love to be active."
