Brad Pitt Biography

Brad Pitt

Name: Brad Pitt
Profession: Actor, Producer
Birth Date: December 18, 1963
Height: 5’ 11½”

Brad Pitt was born in Shawnee, Okla., but he grew up in Springfield, Miss.  After high school, Pitt attended the University of Missouri, where he studied journalism before dropping out to become an actor. He was just two credit hours short of graduating when he took his leap of faith and moved to Hollywood.

Pitt’s first break came when he landed a small recurring role on "Dallas" in 1987. He then went on to land guest roles on such television shows as “21 Jump Street,” “Head of the Class,” “Growing Pains” and “thirtysomething.”

Pitt would then become an overnight sensation when he starred as a sexy criminal in the 1991 film "Thelma & Louise." His star power would grow further the following year when he appeared in Robert Redford's "A River Runs Through It," for which Pitt learned fly fishing by casting off of Hollywood buildings.

Several notable film roles soon followed, including "Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles" (1994), "Legends of the Fall" (1994), "Twelve Monkeys" (1995), "Se7en" (1995) and "The Devil's Own" (1997).

By the time of his controversial 1999 film “Fight Club,” in which he starred alongside Edward Norton, Pitt had solidified his standing as one of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
